I have recently attended a two days affiliate training workshop by the World’s #1 Super Affiliate Ewen Chia. It was a two full-days workshop that has loaded me with tons and tons of affiliate marketing information, secrets, tips, tactics and more! At the end of the workshop, I feel like information overloaded and I’m sure most of the student felt that way.

Today I’m going to share with you the basic formula of affiliate marketing that I have learned from Ewen’s workshop and I hope you find this invaluable information useful to your affiliate marketing business.

The basic formula of affiliate marketing can be boiled down to a few steps,

• Find a market – The first step of the formula will be finding a market with problems that need to solve. When you are choosing a market, most of the Super Affiliate would recommend what is known as ‘affinity marketing’. In other word, pick a market that you may have likings or is an expert of the market. This is because it’s easier for you to work in a market that you enjoy and you’ll probably understand the customer’s needs better. Affinity marketing is just one of the ways to find a market. • Find a solution/product – The second step of the affiliate marketing formula will be finding a solution/product to solve the problems of the selected market. One of the places you might want to take a look is Clickbank. It’s currently the largest digital products marketplace in the Internet. Just head over to Clickbank’s marketplace and you will see that there are tons of solution/product available for your selected market. Some other affiliate program marketplace that you may also want drop by are PayDotCom, Commission Junction, LinkShare and etc.

• Drive traffic to product – Now you have found a suitable market and a solution/product for the market. In order to make a sale, you will need to learn how to drive traffic to the solution/product website. When it comes to driving traffic, most affiliate marketers want traffic fast and I can’t blame them because it can be very frustrating when you see zero sales on the product that you are promoting. Wanting traffic fast doesn’t mean that you should try every traffic methods under the sky. You should focus on those proven traffic strategies and not waste your effort on those that doesn’t work. I believe most of the guru guides have mentioned some ways of traffic generation, so just pick up of the proven strategies and try it out. The basic formula of affiliate marketing is just the basic foundation that most of the gurus’ profit system builds on. Therefore it’s important to study and understand the basic formula thoroughly before you proceed to learn the more complex profit systems!
